Hey everyone! My name is Jonathan Stalnaker, but you can just call me Jonny. I'm currently on an exciting journey pursuing my Bachelor's degree in Information Sciences at the University of Arizona Global Campus.

Over the past decade or so, I've had the incredible opportunity to dive deep into web development, building dynamic and scalable online experiences for some really fantastic companies. Think names like Atlassian, Intuit, Slack, The New York Times (specifically Wirecutter), Harvard Business School, and Alila Hotels – it's been a wild ride helping them craft their digital presence. My sweet spot is definitely in modern frontend tech, playing around with Vue/Nuxt, React/Next, Tailwind, and getting all the HTML, CSS, and JavaScript just right, along with making sure all those APIs play nicely together. I'm all about making sure what I build not only performs great but is also super accessible for everyone, and I've picked up a lot about optimizing performance, A/B testing, Git, and continuous integration along the way.

Professionally, my day-to-day involves being a programmer, which means I'm often knee-deep in finding elegant fixes for complex system bugs, brainstorming fresh ideas, and constantly keeping up with the ever-evolving tech landscape. This hands-on work has given me a really practical understanding of IT. I've gotten to use cool tools like Google BigData for analytics, integrate secure systems with Auth0, and polish website designs using things like Tailwind CSS and Figma.

Now, why am I back in school at UAGC? Even after years in the trenches, I'm always hungry to learn more and see things from a fresh perspective that can push my career even further. Formal studies often reveal new ways of thinking or those little details you might not pick up on otherwise. I'm genuinely excited to build on my existing expertise, fill in any knowledge gaps, and just generally deepen my grasp of IT fundamentals. Ultimately, I'm aiming to keep growing as a developer, contribute to projects that truly make a difference, and bring solid technical insights to the table to drive innovation in the web world. I really believe this course of study is going to be a huge boost for my professional journey down the road.
